#SIPSLAYSOIRÉE – If I know anything about Chicagoans, it’s that we love a good party to kick-off the season. And nothing says summer quite like new friends, riverfront breezes, over-sized sunglasses, and a LOT of rosé!
Last week I had the pleasure of attending Pearl Tavern’s Sip & Slay Summer Soirée to celebrate the unveiling of their highly anticipated riverfront patio and the whole affair was truly enchanting. For the last three years, the Loop’s beloved seafood eatery has been one of my go-to spots for martinis and all things oysters. The vintage nautical décor takes you back in time to the 1950s golden era of Chicago, but just downstairs and past the kitchen you’re transported into a whimsical riverside garden.
Under twinkling tea lights and green ivy, some of Chicago’s most admired fashion, food, and lifestyle bloggers mingled as the sun set while sipping on summertime libations. The event was sponsored by my new favorite, Whispering Angel Rosé. Complimentary glasses of the crisp wine paired perfectly with Chef Frank Valdez’s small bites of lobster ceviche and mini salmon BLTs. To say it was a match made in heaven is an understatement!
Since the exuberant celebration’s attendees are some of the blogger-sphere’s most noteworthy, I wanted to dress to impress! I opted for a knit black DKNY maxi-dress with a statement Chanel belt. I love adding belts to boxier dresses to emphasize my waist and give some shape to the silhouette. To step up this look a notch, I paired this look with black leather Tanya Spinelli lace up heels. Despite wearing a long patio dress, the tasteful slit up the side allowed for just enough “shoe-time.” Finally, I topped this outfit off with a Louis Vuitton Leather Box Shoulder Bag.
Between the beautiful weather, memorable laughs, delicious food, and charming patio, Pearl Tavern hosted nothing short of a magical Instagram-worthy night. It’s safe to say, this restaurant’s secret garden is bound to be a summertime favorite!
